Glen Corner died tragically, when he was stabbed to death in East Avenue, Harton, South Shields, while celebrating his 16th birthday on August 25, 2006
Just days earlier he'd picked up eight top GCSE results from Harton Technology College.
He will be sadly missed by his Mum, Suzanne Corner.
Glen was a loving and caring boy, he was respectful of others and they respected him. He doted on his four younger brothers and sister and was always looking out for them.
Everyone who knew Glen had a great amount of respect for him, he was cool-headed and calm in any situation and never resorted to violence. He certainly wasn't a troublemaker.
He had just received his GCSE results – eight passes, A* to C, and I am so proud of him. His dream was to study engineering at college and I have just found out that he had been having extra lessons to make sure he passed maths. He was so thrilled with his results, his ambition was to become a marine engineer.
He had even built his own mountain bike using pocket money to buy parts and put them together.
Glen had a zest for life and he was always making people laugh.
He had a dry sense of humour and everyone who talks about him says how they used to laugh so much when they were with him.
Glen will be sorely missed by everybody who knew him.

Can not believe you have been gone from us for almost 5 year!! You are still in each and every one of our hearts. No matter how many years passes we will always love and remember you just as we did when you were here. You're in all of our hearts. You are a sweet angel, the sweetest there is. People say 'No-One is perfect' well that's a lie coz you are! You have been through so much in your short life, and you always came out with a smile. That smile is forever engraved in our minds. You are the most amazing young man and I know you are guiding your brothers and sisters to be just as amazing as you are.
PS, Your Nath isn't coping well sweetheart, look out for him with extra care xxx
Your Mam is being so strong, it breaks her heart every day but she is coping and I know she is doing you proud.

its been so long since you left us, but everytime a luk at the sky i think of you and shed a tear, it almost still doesnt feel real, now your presence has left, the face of this earth now your body's at rest. we keep on thinkin, why was it your time. a beautiful young teenaged boy with a sweet thoughtful mind, you had your whole life to live, so many goals that you'd get, you where a top lad, yeah the hero tht left!
since you tuk your last breath, and your life is at rest, i cry hope and pray, that 1 day we all will see you again, yeah i hope and pray, every day, tht this hero who left us will return once again !!
